Branches have their own focuses and passions they advocate for on a local, state and national level.
The Moss Vale Evening CWA has been active for more than three-and-a-half years and has brought joy to many in a variety of ways.
The group of dedicated women have baked and crafted goods for troops in the Philippines, made items for hospitals in NSW, catered at community events and hosted different initiatives.
The largest event the CWA branch has catered for was the first Vocal Muster showcase for 2022, with plans to also assist the Moss Vale community garden.
One annual event that is a crowd-pleaser, is when the ladies get the trees in Leighton Gardens ready for winter with wooly warmers.
The colourful yarn bombing includes bright squares, pom-poms from schools, handmade critters and hearts by people who wanted to contribute, and the popular redback spiders.
The branch was also proud to walk with other groups and residents at this year's Anzac Day service in Moss Vale, and would love others to join them in the future.
The women are passionate about celebrating community milestones.
The Moss Vale CWA gathered with other branches to celebrate the organisation's 100 year legacy, where a plaque was erected at the Leighton Gardens.
The event was a branch initiative and involved a collaboration with the Wingecarribee Shire Council.
The pandemic meant the group had to rethink community events and reduce the amount of women in meetings, but it did not stop them from making a difference.
CWA members form friendships, engage in projects and have the opportunity to work with different groups in the community.
The Moss Vale Evening CWA is thankful to BDCU Alliance Bank branch in Moss Vale for giving them permission to hold stalls, along with other businesses which have fundraised with them.
The support of local businesses means the branch can dedicate funds to schools, and help raise relief for victims impacted by the floods.
You can find the branch at the Moss Vale Showground Markets on June 19, or by calling or emailing mossvaleeveningcwa@gmail.com.
