The finals hopes of GWS have taken a huge hit after star forward Jesse Hogan was ruled out for at least two weeks with a quad injury. Hogan suffered the injury at training this week and he has been ruled out of Sunday's crunch clash with Gold Coast in Canberra as well as next week's match against the Western Bulldogs. The Giants' five-match winning run has lifted them to within percentage of the top eight, and the loss of Hogan is a big blow to their chances of snaring a finals berth. All-Australian defender Nick Haynes and Finn Callaghan return to the side in place of Hogan and Jacob Wehr (omitted). Todd Goldstein's hot VFL form has earned him a recall for North Melbourne's encounter with St Kilda on Sunday. Goldstein, midfielder Will Phillips and forward Charlie Lazzaro come in for Cam Zurhaar (ankle), George Wardlaw (hamstring) and Callum Coleman-Jones (concussion). The Saints have been bolstered by the return of Jack Higgins and Jack Bytel. Melbourne have recalled Adam Tomlinson to replace Harrison Petty (ribs) for Sunday's clash with the Crows. Kade Chandler has also earned a recall in place of the omitted Charlie Spargo, while ruckman Brodie Grundy misses out for a second straight week. Adelaide have dropped Lachlan Sholl and Lachlan Murphy in addition to losing Rory Laird (shoulder) and Josh Rachele (suspension). Veteran Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch has earned a recall for the first time since round eight, while Patrick Parnell and Ned McHenry are other inclusions. Australian Associated Press
