The members have made about 50 laundry bags to be sent to Aussie troops in Mindanao in the Philippines. The gift has been complemented with home made Anzac biscuits baked by the branch members.
Moss Vale Evening CWA branch president Jennifer Bowe OAM said the bags were a team effort with many members involved in all the stages of their manufacture.
"We held special sewing days, which of course were an excuse to have lots of fun and laughter while cutting out, sewing, ironing, threading cords and of course more ironing. Not to miss out, our non-sewing members kept the tea and coffee coming," she said.
But the reach of the branch doesn't stop with Aussie troops.
Mrs Bowe said that in the recent weeks the branch members had shipped out boxes of items that would find their way to families in need in a wide range of NSW hospitals.

"One item in great demand is breast cushions used by women who have undergone an operation which potentially will save their life. Of course with Australians being so creative, hospitals have found a good use for these with heart operation patients," she said.
"Of course not all members are involved in cooking or sewing, but love the friendship we offer, and the events like our movie club, the many activities and, for example, the upcoming cruise some of our members are looking forward to enjoying."
