The former Chevalier College student who graduated in 2018 begun his career in Australian Army in March 2019.
Tyler has had his sights on a career in the army since he was 8 years old and initially wanted to learn a trade through the army, with becoming a diesel mechanic set firmly in his sights.
His proud mum Jane said that Tyler always wanted to go to join the army.
"We are so proud of what he has already achieved as he sets his sight on this career when he was about 8 years old," she said.
Tyler is currently training in the armored vehicle crew in Victoria, some and hopes to transfer to the diesel mechanic trade next year.
Recently Tyler was awarded the 'Most Outstanding Soldier' from his platoon of 50 soldiers at his March Out Parade for his outstanding marksmanship, section attacks, obstacle courses, medical training and daily marches, as well as surviving 10 days in the bush.
He was also promoted to second in charge after one month at Kapooka after proving himself to his superiors. Tyler was in charge of the movements in his platoon and mediating between others if there was a problem, something he "handled well" according to his mum Jane.
