The LNP in the recent 2019-20 Budget announced they were investing an additional $2.2 billion through the new Local and State Government Road Safety Package to improve safety on our roads.
Argyle Road through the Moss Vale township has been a source of frustration for local motorists for years.
Report dated November 27, 2017 states the RMS has told the Southern Highland News that "traffic flow through Moss Vale is being investigated as part of the performance assessment of the Illawarra Highway corridor strategy."
At times this road resembles a car park and congestion has worsened with the McDonalds franchise and will further deteriorate with the nearly complete Aldi supermarket.
Semis, school buses, cyclists, commuters, pedestrians and reverse parking shoppers continue their daily battles to negotiate this dangerous chaos.
I urge our newly elected state Liberal member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman and our Wingecarribee Council to take advantage of this huge pot of funding and advocate for urgent road funding for this dangerous and frustrating local bottleneck.

'An accident waiting to happen'
I know plans for Station Street are in limbo at the moment, but surely that doesn't mean Council should ignore a a major traffic hazard that is an accident waiting to happen.
Each morning I travel to Bowral along Kirkham Road and every time there is chaos at the intersection near the railway bridge overpass as I, and many other motorists, try to tackle the dangerous right-hand towards Bowral town centre.
It is near impossible to see vehicles coming over the bridge and then you have to give way to anyone travelling south along Kirkham Road.
There is the added challenge of many heavy vehicles which are also on this road.
Surely a stop sign, with no real clear view of oncoming traffic is not good enough.
I'm surprised that someone hasn't been seriously injured in an accident at this location.
The problem has become worse in recent years with more traffic travelling along that road.
Please, council do something about this situation before it is too late.

A seasonal favourite
I've lived in the Southern Highlands for more than 20 years and I never get bored with the seasons. My favourite is most definitely Autumn. Sure Spring is beautiful but Autumn in the Southern Highlands is something else. I love the milder, but still comfortable temperatures, and I am in awe of the Autumn colour in the gardens and on the trees that line the streets of this town.
It is a pleasure to step into the great outdoors in the Highlands Autumn and I love when I can show off this place to family and friends who visit from other areas. For anyone who is blessed to live in this region, make sure you appreciate its natural beauty - especially now when the trees are changing colour.
