At 5:35pm on Sunday April 7 SES was called out to Hammock Hill Reserve in East Bowral for an animal rescue.
A dog had become stuck in a hollow log while out on an evening walk. The owners contacted emergency services.
SES members carefully cut into the log with a chainsaw and created a hole for the dog to crawl out of.
The rescue operation took 20 minutes with the dog happily reunited with its owners.
Controller at SES Wingecarribee Unit, Warren Turner, was pleased with the success of the rescue.
"I always like to see happy endings," Mr Turner said.
