Sarah's ongoing commitment and determination to increase her fitness and improve her health has resulted in her remarkable achievement of losing 36kgs over 17 months.
Surgeons requested that Sarah reduce her body mass index (BMI) in preparation for her upcoming hip replacement surgery. Sarah achieved this by joining Weight Watchers and being strongly committed to her exercise program, consisting of regular walking, using the exercise machines at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong and a personalised exercise program at Ontrac in Bowral.
Sarah is confident that she can sustain her healthy eating because she still enjoys some of her favourite treats including Coke Zero and tea and scones at her favourite concerts at the Mittagong RSL.
Sarah has been a long-term client of Interchange Australia. Every week for at least five hours Sarah meets Michael, Interchange Australia's dedicated support worker for social support.
Sarah and Michael go for a walk at one of the local walking tracks, enjoy afternoon tea, participate in the Stage Fright Players drama group and attend Sarah's weekly weigh-in at Weight Watchers. Sarah enjoys the support as they have a tremendous time laughing together.
"I like Michael's funny jokes, said Sarah. "I really enjoy singing along to the radio together."
Earlier this year, Sarah joined Interchange Australia's entertaining and inspirational Stage Fright Players Drama group that rehearse weekly at Welby Hall. Sarah loves attending to meet new friends and socialise. She is a natural performer who loves singing and dancing. Sarah said her favourite part of rehearsals is "singing along with Diana!"
Congratulations on your achievements Sarah, you are an inspiration and we look forward to your debut performance with the Stage Fright Players later this year!
