Bitton Group founder and chef David Bitton has been announced as Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Australia Day ambassador for 2019.

Mr Bitton will address Highlanders as a part of the shire’s official Australia Day celebrations, which will be held from 9.30am at Berrima Courthouse on Saturday, January 26.
Mr Bitton has worked as a chef in restaurants around the world, including La Colombes in Paris, the Carlton Intercontinental, La Fontine in Switzerland, the two Michelin star Ledoyen in Paris, The Treasury at the Intercontinental in Sydney, La Fontain in Hayman Island and The Grande Dining Room at the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne.
He has also head chef position at The Gekko restaurant at The Sheraton on the Park in Sydney.
This is the position that made David a recognised talent in Australia, and it was also where he met his wife who became his partner in the creation of Bitton.

It was in the household kitchen of David Bitton and his wife Sohani that a unique range of gourmet products.
From its humble beginnings the range has grown exponentially, now including more than a dozen products that are sold in more than 600 carefully selected fine food stores both locally and internationally.
This expanded into the Bitton Cafe and Grocer in Alexandria and Oatley, as well as a cookbook and consulting service.
The official Wingecarribee Shire Australia Day program will also include a citizenship ceremony and the announcement of the shire’s Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards.
There will be tea, coffee and lamingtons on the lawn at Berrima Courthouse after the ceremony.
There will be a grand parade at noon, which will feature classic cars, local bands, emergency services vehicles and historic tractors.
Families can also browse through more than 50 market stalls, as well as enjoy a jumping castle and face painting.
