The stations will be open from 2pm on April 4, where people will be able to fill sandbags themselves.
No shovels will be provided, residents are advised to bring their own.
Fill sandbags in the following areas:
- Mittagong: Corner of Old Hume Highway and Wombeyan Caves Road, Woodlands
- Bowral: Stephens Park
- Moss Vale: Southern Rural Livestock Exchange (205 Berrima Road, Moss Vale)
Those who collect sandbags from the following locations must call 132 500 and let the SES know how many they have taken.
This allows the SES to meet the demand in different areas.
Once sandnags have been collected and used, they are considered contaminated and cannot be returned or collected.
The SES advises that people can prepare their properties in the case of severe weather:
- Trim overhanging tree branches to prevent them from damaging homes during strong winds
- Secure or bring outdoor items inside that might become projectiles in strong wind gusts
- Clean gutters and downpipes to prevent water damage
- Check roofs for loose tiles or damages that could lead to leaks
The SES also urges people not to ride, walk or drive through floodwaters.
If you require emergency assistance during floods and storms, call 132 500 and triple zero in life-threatening emergencies.
