A student that aspires to pursue a career in agriculture has been recognised in a prestigious award, that champions youth who are passionate about the industry.

Charlotte Freer was awarded second place the Norman Lethbridge Award (NLA), where she was given the Wendy and Des Stubbs Encouragement Award.
The NLA recognises students and cadets from the ages of 16 to 25, who study agriculture, livestock auctioneering and work in stocks and stations.

The annual accolade from Angus Australia is open for young adults who live within 200 kilometres of Sydney.
"To receive the award, let alone to be nominated, is quite exciting for me," the 17-year-old from Chevalier College said.
The Berrima local was nominated by her school in November, 2021, and had to submit a resume and be interviewed by a panel earlier this year.
She was asked about her perspectives on environmental issues, endeavours after school and how she handles different situations.
Her passion for agriculture and working with animals ignited when she became involved in working with cattle and local shows through the school.
Miss Freer, who did not have prior experience in agriculture, but has been riding horses for 10 years, said this made the honour more significant.
"[With] a group of smart and worthy nominees, it is quite an achievement," she said.
Her success follows former Chevalier College student Sarah Pace's recognition as a runner-up in 2021.
The student received her award at a presentation at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, where she also competed in the beef cattle qualifying round.
While she did not progress to the next round, the animal lover said she enjoyed working with animals.
"I think it's very rewarding, so much effort goes into local shows and to get recognition," she said.
Miss Freer said there was over 100 days in preparation for the parading, which involved regular grooming, maintenance and ensuring animals could work with any handler.
She participated with other students from Chevalier College, and also qualified to compete through the Moss Vale Show.
