Gordon Lewis defeated Bob Edwards 152-150 in the do-or-die clash.
This is a match that the author had a very close up view of and one that was close up to the last bowl.
After 17 ends the scores were locked at 76-all, Edwards then took a slight lead 98-94 after 21 ends. After 26 ends it was again level, 126 apiece.
Neither player could get a break in the match and with Consistency Singles it is the first person to reach 150 who wins. After 30 ends the match wide open with scores 146-all.
In what proved the final end, the 31st, Lewis was able to sneak home by two shots.
The other semifinal between Glen Giese and Bob Crowley has yet to be played.
Ashley Lewis defeated Kevin Stafford 31-24 in a second round match of the Handicap Singles.
The first half of the match was all Lewis and after 20 ends he had a match-winning lead 23-8.
But the second half was dominated by Stafford who put in some match-winning bowls to cut the lead but his slow start was his undoing and at the finish Lewis held on for a seven shot win.

Media
We have been asked quite frequently what is the situation with bowls publication in the Southern Highland News..
The last couple of years has seen the paper hit very hard, from a publication of four newspapers a week it has been slashed to one week.
From a bowls point of view we send reports on Sunday and Monday.
Coverage goes into the paper when possible, it has to compete with all the other sports as well.
However all bowls results are published online regardless of whether they are also in the physical paper.
The club thanks the Southern Highland News with all the bowls news they have published over the years plus the many readers who have no connection with bowls but like to follow people they know.
Bowlers the times they are changing so please be thankful for the coverage we get.
