Wingecarribee Shire Council's Interim Administrator Viv May has adopted the Operational Plan and Budget for the upcoming 2021/22 Financial Year.

The adoption of the Operational Plan and Budget paves the way for the council to commit $68.6 million on capital works projects over the next twelve months.
Highlights from the adopted 2021/22 Operational Plan and Budget include:
- $5.3 million to be spent on improving community buildings,
- $8.4 million to be spent on improving the water supply network,
- $24.8 million to be spent on renewing roads, bridges and footpaths, and
- $20.5 million to be spent on upgrading the Shire's sewerage network.
Mr May said the Operational Plan and Budget focused on community improvements and future growth.
"The allocation of these funds will help address many of the priorities our community have been calling for," he said.
"It's also a fiscally responsible budget that will enable the Shire to grow in the years ahead."
In adopting the annual Operational Plan and Budget the Interim Administrator thanked the shire's residents.
"This year we received over 40 submissions over the course of the public exhibition period," he said.
"This demonstrates that Highland residents take a keen interest in the affairs of the council and the greater shire."
Feedback was received regarding the Shire's network of footpaths, shared pathways and the development of an integrated transport network. Other submissions referred to environment and sustainability concerns and community wellbeing.
"I would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback and help shape this year's Operational Plan and Budget," Mr May concluded.
