One Southern Highlander has had the first COVID vaccine in the phase 1b roll out in the Wingecarribee Shire.
Graham Furness was all smiles as he received the first vaccination at 8am at the Mittagong Healthcare Centre on Monday, March 22.
As he was the first one to be receiving the shot, Mr Furness said "there were no nerves and it was easy."
"I didn't even realise the lovely nurse had put the needle in. I feel great," Mr Furness said.
Nurse Ruby Maiers who delivered the shot joked, "I'm an expert with needles you see."
For anyone apprehensive about getting the vaccine, Mr Furness has a simple message.
"Forget about the nerves and just get it done," Mr Furness said.
"It's a very simple thing to have done. It takes two seconds to have done and there is no pain.
"Hopefully we can start getting back to normality soon."
