The South Western Sydney Local Health District, together with Wingecarribee Health Association for Men (WHAM) and Western Sydney University, lead Tackling the Challenge: Talking Men's Health - an initiative that encourages men in South Western Sydney to share their stories of resilience.
As part of the initiative, four inspirational men from the Bowral community will share their stories of recovery - including around issues of addiction, health, and family - in a short film to be launched on Thursday, March 25.

One of the men participating, Ash Druery said it was through a walking project he was asked to join the Talking Men's Health panel and another step to normalise men's mental health problems.
"It was through the Man Walk," Druery said.
"One of the guys from WHAM asked if I'd be interested and I jumped on the opportunity.
"It's another avenue to get my story out there and normalise what men go through. It's a different platform which will reach new people and it's great to be a part of a project with Western Sydney University."
The stories these men will tell will be confronting.
But, now that they have lived through it, they can share their knowledge with other men in similar situations.
"People can expect brutal honesty at the event (laughs)," Druery said.
"It'll be four stories from four local men who have been through different things that most men have gone through in their lives.
"It's an opportunity to voice the stories. Once one person opens up, it gives the confidence for others to follow and that's the main driver from the get go for me.
"Every opportunity that's presented to me I take. I feel I have a voice in this area now and people will call me if it's an important issue to speak about."
Community members attending the launch can meet the men featured, and access a range of men's health resources.
The Tackling the Challenge - men's health movie launch will be held on Thursday, March 25 2021 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
The event will take place at the Empire Cinema, 327 Bong Bong Street, Bowral, NSW 2576.
