He's played around the state, been a sportsman all his life and now he's won the B-grade Moss Vale Golf Club Championships at 84.
Turning 85 in February, 2021, Clive Austin still loves to get out on the golf course and hit that wonderfully straight shot he's well-known for.
His involvement in the game wasn't immediate as he played different sports growing up.
"I never took golf all that serious in my younger years due to my cricket," Mr Austin said.
"I played in the rep sides out on the Central West and then I played in the lower grades in Balmain and also first grade in the Southern Districts.
"I was also a member of the Rugby League Country Club which has closed down.
"My golf, I should have put more into it when I was younger. I realised that later on.
"I got down to a one handicap. I was a member at Liverpool for 28 years.
"I've been a sportsman my whole life."
As a member and sportsman his whole life, Clive has met some wonderful people he will always call a friend.
"I've met the most lovely people through sport, especially golf," Mr Austin said.
"The blokes I've played with in Sydney and in the Senior Masters, you end up making some wonderful friends."
Clive may not have focused on golf immediately, but when he zoned in on the game, he was an outstanding talent.
"I started playing playing golf when I was 17-18, but it was just social stuff," Mr Austin said.
"My fellow cricketers and I would head over to the Wellington Golf Course and we played socially.
"In 1959, I went on to join Molong Golf Club and won the club championships there.
"After that I helped create the Cumnock Golf Club where I'm from. I won the championship there in 61-62.
"Then I was off to Sydney and I joined Rosnay Golf Club where I won another club championship.
"After that I didn't play golf much. I got married and the kids came along, I put golf on hold for about 10 years."
Adding another trophy to the cabinet, Clive won the 2020 B-grade Moss Vale Golf Club Championships in November.
"I didn't get too excited about it,"
"I've been an A-grade player my whole life, but at my age you start to struggle a bit. I'll be 85 in February.
"I won the competition by 13 shots. I've been here at Moss Vale Golf Club for 10 years now.
"It's a wonderful club to be a part of."
Fellow golf player, Paul Sheehan wrote of his admiration for Clive's game on the Moss Vale Golf Club's Facebook page.
"Just fabulous to see Clive Austin pick up some trophies in B Grade," Mr Sheehan said.
"Clive is in his eighties and still hits the ball as straight as if fired out of a gun!"
