Plans for a Robertson Aquatic Centre were shelved after the shed collapsed in 2018.
Residents are unhappy about the lack of communication surrounding the stalled development.
An annual general meeting will be held on Sunday, November 15 to address several concerns surrounding the pool.
Robertson community member Judy Fisk said she wanted answers.
"We want a pool basically," she said.
"After 40 years of the people raising funds and putting hundreds of hours in, to say they are abandoning the pool is a bit rough.
"It's really sad. There are a lot of questions they haven't answered.
"I think a public meeting is the way to go. Communication is the way to go.
"We need transparency."
Ms Fisk said she didn't agree to turn the pool site into something else.
"Up on the [Robertson] bowling club notice board it said that they [the committee] had abandoned the pool and would consider alternatives," she said.
"Community members have put hundreds of hours in, it's a shame.
"What are the alternatives, how much will it cost and why hasn't the community been consulted.
"The community wants a pool."
Southern Highland News contacted Robertson Aquatic Centre secretary Ian Hunt in October for an update on the pool.
Mr Hunt declined to comment due to ongoing legal proceedings.
"As the insurance issues are still ongoing and in negotiation, it would not be appropriate to discuss that," he said.
"There is ample information posted and to be posted on the website. The community will be able to make an informed decision well before the AGM."
According to the Robertson Aquatic Centre website, the information contained on the website Information contained on this page is suggestions from the outgoing committee.
"It will be up to either an incoming committee or if no committee is formed, an administrator to undertake tasks from the AGM onwards," the website stated.
Several key updates have been made to the Robertson Aquatic Centre website and will be read at the AGM on November 15.
Southern Highland News has published excerpts of the update. It can be read in full here.
"The last five years have been a tumultuous time for the association. The period leading up to the construction had involved virtually continuous re-assessments of the conditions for the build to begin involving no less than five re-submissions of plans to accommodate the changes requested by the ever-changing council officials," the website stated.
"Throughout this time the determination of the committee ensured that the project continued. Stakeholders, grant providers and suppliers were kept informed of developments. AGMs provided community updates.
"Community interest and participation have always been an area of concern.
"It is now up to our legal team to address the situation to produce an outcome acceptable to all parties."
