The local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and Wingecarribee Shire Council are inviting residents to join them as they celebrate this year's rescheduled NAIDOC Week activities.

A two-day Community Exhibition starting Friday November 13 at the Bowral Memorial Hall will be the centerpiece of this year's scaled back celebrations.
Council's Aboriginal community development officer Melissa Wiya said a range of community activities would be placed on display.
"This year we'll be showcasing the home activities that members of the community undertook earlier in the year and the sense of fun that went into making them," she said.
Items on display include examples of basket weaving and boomerang painting.
"We'll also be presenting a video from within the newly created Guula Ngurra National Park in Canyonleigh," Ms Wiya said.
"This area has rich cultural significance to the Gundungurra Aboriginal people and the name Guula Ngurra means 'Koala country' in their language."
Activities will be displayed at the Bowral Memorial Hall, located on Bendooley Street in Bowral, on Friday November 13 between 12 noon and 4pm and again on Saturday November 14 between 9am and 4pm.
The exhibition will be held in-line with NSW Public Health Safety Guidelines and include registration details on entry, a cap on the number of guests in the hall at any time, increased cleaning schedule and provision of hand sanitisers.
Council reminds anyone to stay home if feeling unwell, get tested and self-isolate until results are returned.
Entry and participation to all activities is free of charge. Bookings are not required but guests are reminded that physical numbers may be limited due to social distancing restrictions.
NAIDOC Week will be celebrated nationally between November 8 -15, 2020.
The theme for this year's NAIDOC Week celebrations is 'Always Was, Always Will Be' and recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
