Group 6 executive officer Stephen Hazleton said the competition would be played over seven rounds before moving into the finals.
"We want to maintain the finals in September so that we don't clash with summer sports," he said.
Hazleton said the seven round competition would mean that all teams in first grade would get the chance to go up against each other once.

However, he said the second and third grade, and the Ladies League Tag would play on a schedule as there were more teams in those competitions.
"Where ever possible these teams will be aligned with their first grade team so they can all play at the same ground," he said.
Hazleton said due to Covid restrictions, enforced by the NSW Government and NSW Rugby League, there would be several changes in the competition.
"The teams will play slightly shortened quarters due to a requirement for all players to have their own drink bottle," he said.
"League staff can't run water for the players so there will be a two minute break after the first and third quarter and a four minute half time break.
"Additionally players won't be able to go to the change room at half time."
Hazleton said more time would be scheduled between games, which meant that only four matches could be played on any day.
"This will mean that clubs with more than four sides will have to have some grades playing on a Saturday," he said.
"This will apply to teams such as Mittagong and Narellan clubs."
But Hazleton is quick to add that things could change before the competition kicks off so people should keep any eye on the association website group6rugbyleague@weebly.com
He said he had already prepared about five draws because of the ever-changing restrictions regarding COVID-19.
