SHNA competition co-ordinator Kate Bow said the association had been looking to a July 18 start for some time based on information from Netball NSW.
She said the latest State Government announcement that sport could resume on July 1 had fit well with the local plans.
The Highlands competition will begin on July 18 at the end of the school holidays.

Ms Bow said that the association had prepared and submitted its risk assessment and other documentation to Wingecarribee Shire Council and was now just waiting for the formal approval to get back on the court.
The current return to the court guidelines of 10 players per court (including coach) for training as per Netball NSW rules will be followed until further restrictions are lifted.
However, Ms Bow said that this would allow for the ability to kickstart activities with the training of representative teams starting back and then club teams to follow.
"We currently have five usable courts so the rep players will be spread across those courts to meet the current requirements," she said.
Logistics surrounding the 2020 competition still need to be finalised and are subject to the release of further information regarding COVID-19 restrictions.
But Ms Bow has a contingency plan for all possibilities.
"If the numbers are restricted to only 100 people at the courts at any time we will prepare the draw accordingly," she said.
"This could mean we need to play more rounds and have shorter quarters.
"If the number of people allowed onsite is up to 500 then we will be able to run a normal competition.
"The number of teams to register for this year's competition will also need to be taken into consideration.
"We should know this by the school holidays.
"It is just a waiting game at the moment."
Regardless of the restrictions Ms Bow said all Covid Safe requirements, including sanitiser at each court and social distancing, will be met.
Ms Bow said her intention was to ensure that teams got plenty of court time, even though the season would be shorter.
She said that was dependent on the number of teams registered, but she was confident of two rounds being played.
However, the competition will wrap up as usual with finals in September.
"We can't have this sport running into the summer sport season," she said.
Registration for this year's competition is now open and can be completed online.
