Jason Grumley-Grennan and wife Charlie are so good at what they do, to the layperson, it looks easy. But running successful cafes, bars and eateries for more than 20 years means they have the system down pat and know how to make it work.
Opening Berrima Wine Vaults, in the iconic two-storey Georgian building on Old Hume Highway in Berrima is Jason and Charlie's new venture and has all the makings of becoming the perfect place for that great glass of wine and delicious, quality food any day of the week.
British-born Jason has a vision to use local produce when he can and uses this to craft dishes that make diners smack lips and lick plates. And both he and Charlie are superb at bringing food to the table that is innovative, honest, darn tasty and memorable.
"I wanted to create a place where everyone can come and gather at the bar or in the dining area, meet and mingle and above all offer great food while they relax."

Berrima Wine Vaults segues neatly through the different levels within the cafe/dining area to the downstairs venue and bar area, which can be used for functions or just simply as a bar and dining area.
The place is versatile, the feeling is one of comfort and ease and the wine and bar list offers something for everyone with support for local wineries, boutique regional Australian producers and a smattering of top international producers.
Even better news is Jason's love of a good Bloody Mary, a must for that early-morning pick-me-up. Jason is also very price-conscious.
"The most expensive main on the menu (eye fillet from Marulan Meats that is grass fed with 100 days on grain and GMO free) is a $38. while breakfast lovers can enjoy the smashed avocado, goat cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes, pickled shallots with sourdough for $17.50. Breakfast could turn out to be as popular as lunch and dinner in this warm and inviting establishment.
It's been a long time coming but now Southern Highlanders have just the wine bar they wanted. A venue that serves their needs, seven days a week and it's right in historic Berrima.
I am passionate about giving the best service, quality and value-for-money to customers
