The multi award-winning winery has recently walked away with another top honour, this time for its 2018 Tertini Tasmania Pinot Noir.
The wine took out the prize for Best Pinot Noir in Australia at the Australian Pinot Noir Challenge held on the Mornington Pensinsula in late November.
As the name suggests, this top drop has been produced through Tertini's Tasmanian vineyard and winery near Hobart.
Winemaker Jonathan Holgate said he was thrilled with the achievement of the wine alongside some of the best Pinot Noir producers including those from other cold-climate regions such as the Yarra, Mornington Peninsula, and the Gippslands.
"All the top wines on the night were exceptional examples of the variety but I think that ours came out on top because it displayed the most elegance while at the same time being rich and complex. Predominately Coal River Valley fruit, the quality is so good because of its long and cool growing season. This region is different to most of Australia as it has longer sunlight hours and a cool, dry climate during the growing season," he said.
Mr Holgate said he was now looking forward to sharing the winning wine with Southern Highlands residents and visitors through Tertini's local cellar door on Kells Creek Road (off Wombeyan Caves Road) on the outskirts of Mittagong.
The cellar door is open seven days from 10am to 5pm. Bookings are essential for groups of six or more people.
