Then why not attend any one or more of the Christmas carol events still to come in the Southern Highlands?
To help you choose an event that best suits you we have pulled together a list of the Christmas carol events we know of so far.
December 21
- Robertson Anglican Church will hold Family Carols at the Robertson Church in Meryla Street, Robertson. This family event offers heaps of kids activities, a barbecue, farmyard animals, jumping castle, and local musicians. Kids activities from 5pm and carols from 6.30pm. All are welcome to join in the evening of fun and singing.
December 22
- St Andrews Presbyterian Church Family Christmas Carols will begin at 5pm, starting with a free barbecue. The carols with start at 6pm and this will be followed by supper at the church located Bendooley Street, Bowral (opposite Corbett Gardens). Everyone is most welcome.
- The traditional service of Lessons and Carols as introduced in Kings College Chapel, Cambridge, UK, in 1918 and based on the service introduced by Bishop Benson of Truro, Cornwall (later Archbishop of Canterbury) in 1880 will be held at St Jude's Church Bowral. The Service includes readings from the Bible telling the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus. This is interspersed with Christmas Carols and Hymns beginning with the traditional introductory carol "Once in Royal David's City". The Service is led by the St Jude's Singers and will begin at 7.30pm.
December 24
- Carols in the Church will be held at Mittagong Uniting Church on December 24 from 6.15pm to 7.00pm. Come along and sing along to your favourite carols. The church opens from 5.30pm for a cuppa, cordial, coffee and conversation. This will be followed by singing. All are welcome. Details: Shonagh Moore on 4871 1369.
