At about 1.30am on February 17, Rural Fire Service, Southern Highlands police and State Emergency Service (SES) crews were called to McGraths Road on the Illawarra Highway with reports of a tree blocking the north and southbound lanes.
Emergency service crews were assisted by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and Wingecarribee Shire Council.
Crews worked until just before 5am to clear the trunks from the road.
According to the Robertson Rural Fire Brigade, a eucalyptus tree had split to the ground and completely blocked the highway.
One of the trunks fell from the road and caused some damage to a nearby building.
There were diversions in place for light vehicles while the road was being cleared.
Heavy vehicles were parked on the side of the road.
The RMS and council have commenced works to restore the signage that was damaged in the incident and clear all hazards from the roadside.
