On Sunday, October 28 at Bowral Bowling club the final of the handicap singles was played where Dugald Braithwaite defeated Noel Fraser 31-20.

Fraser received a eight shot start in the final.
Braithwaite was in heavy focus from the first bowl and after six ends the were scores level at 13-13.
After nine ends Braithwaite had the lead 16-14.
Arguably Braithwaite was the more dominant player and pulled away for a 12 shot win.
It was crucial for Fraser to keep in touch. He had showed good form going into the final but found Braithwaite in top form on the day.
There was also plenty of excitement in the mixed pairs matches with two games going down to extra ends to decide the winners.
Fran Post and Ashley Lewis defeated Sylvia Handley and Kevin Stafford 19-18.
The scores were locked at 18-18 after 21 ends and an extra end had to be played to determine who went into the next round.
This was a great contest from start to finish after a five hour match.
Post and Lewis held a 8-3 lead after seven ends and still had a comfortable 13-7 lead after 13 ends.
Then the match started to change owing to Handley and Stafford getting back into form and they took the lead 18-16 with one end to play.
One of the talking points in the match was when Handley and Stafford held three shots, Post played the perfect shot to trail the jack through to hold shot.
Lewis drew another shot with the scores tied at 18-18.
The match then went into a extra end.

The extra end was a test for all players and in the extra end a shot from Lewis rested along side a bowl from Stafford to put Post and Lewis through to the next round after a one shot win.
There was another testing match was between Enid Brown and Don Coleman who defeated Lynne Boshier and Keith Edwards 24-18 after the scores were locked at 18-18 after 21 ends.
The opening ends favoured Brown and Coleman and at the halfway mark had a 10-3 lead.
Then Boshier and Edwards made a start to peg back the score and when they scored three shots on the 21st end the scores level 18-18.
Brown and Coleman scored six shots on the extra end to win the match and go into the next round.
Barry Werfel and Rita South defeated Patricia Hardman and Neil Hardman 20-17.
This was another great game with Werfel and South winning on the last end when they picked up four shots .
The players in this match turned in a top game bowls
Gail Fraser and Jim Neely defeated Ann Brenning and Gordon Lewis 41-6.
Present title holders Fraser and Neely have prepared well to defend their title.
The two matches they have played so far has showed why they are top-flight players and they will be there on final day this year.
