It’s show time at Moss Vale: BLOG

Showers and temperatures from 18  to 22 have been forecast for the Highlands over the Moss Vale Show weekend from March 17 to 19.

But don’t let that dampen your show time spirits.

Now in its 131st year the Moss Vale Show is well known for delivering the goods regardless of the weather.

The Southern Highland News will be delivering news, pictures and videos from the many attractions at the three-day event in its Moss Vale Show blog.

► Mud flew during the four-cylinder demolition derby down in the cattledrafting arena:

► March 19 also features the alpaca show, teddy bear’s picnic and pet show.

► The woodchop has record entrants this year, and they have already started chopping away on March 19. The ute muster has been moved to the far side of the main ring, and the derby will be held in the lower arena.

►A Moss Vale Show volunteer has joined the ranks of life members.

Annette Luyken has been volunteering at the show for 35 years, and now her contribution has been officially recognised.

Ms Luyken started out working with the greyhounds on the track.

This is the secret of Kevin Kiley, owner of Noah’s Thoroughbred Racing Pigs, to make his piggies race the track.

Located at the 2017 Moss Vale Show, this year the pigs are helping raise money for the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners. More here.
