Hessians on the Field
This popular competition is back! See all frocks and ensembles made from hessian. Children and adults will whip up their best creations, and even make garments in a special category for pets.
The winner of the open division will be awarded $1000 cash, and first place in the under 16 and pet categories will get Singer sewing machines.
Children's entertainer Emma Watkins will be a guest judge, and the parade will be held at the Spud-A-Dome at 2.30pm, on May 5.
The Spud-A-Dome
Test your skills in the peeling and potato stacking competitions, the spud and spoon race, and potato hold tossing game. DanceEd will also entertain attendees at 12pm on both days.
Five Barrel Brewing Music Stage
For May 4, Mountain Dew music will take the stage from 10.30am to 12.30pm and people will hear Peter Byrne's Diamond Tribute Show from 1pm. Flying Seaman will perform from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and Dragon will be there on 1pm on May 5.
Scarecrow competition
See scarecrows made by families, schools, groups and businesses, and some might include potatoes. First prize will receive $500, $150 for second place and the viewer's choice will win $50.
Olsson's Cooking Stage
The Sydney Private Chef owner David Lee will demonstrate at 11.30am and 1.30pm on May 4.
Original MasterChef winner Julie Goodwin will be cooking classic dishes and offering tips on both days at 10.30am and 12.30pm. Two of her cookbooks will be for sale at the festival.
Stefano Marvello from Italian Cooking Experience with Stefano Marvello's demonstrations will take place at 11.30am and 1.30pm on May 5.
Food and drinks, stalls and displays
There will be hand-crafted spirits from Sohi Distillery and Tara Distillery, and from the breweries Five Barrels and Cedar Creek Cider. Purchase potatoes from the region, and browse through other stalls and displays.
Tickets
Per day, tickets are $25 for adults (16 years old and above), $10 for children between the ages of 12 and 15, and $50 for a family pass (two adults and two children). Kids under 12 can enter for free.
For the weekend, it is $35 per adult, $20 for 12 to 15-year-olds and $80 for a family pass.
