Youth Week
Ways to connect
Youth Week has been created and developed by young people in the Highlands, through collaborations with the council. All the events are free and aim to connect young people with others who are like-minded, through different activities. This week, there will be a screening of Ghost Busters: Frozen Empire on Friday, April 12 from 4.30pm. It is for 12 to 18 years olds and spots can be reserved through Eventbrite. There will be an Italian cooking class from 9.30pm to 1pm on Monday, April 15 at the Community Cooking School in Bowral. Book through Trybooking. Young people can also enjoy a bush walk on Tuesday, April 16 from Mansfield Reserve, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Lunch will be provided and it is suitable for 12 to 24-year-olds. Book via Trybooking.
Highlands Sinfonia Concert
The first concert of the year
The Highlands Sinfonia is kicking of 2024 with this concert. Members will perform a variety of compositions. Ticket sales will be dedicated to the Highlands wildlife rescue and rehabilitation group Wombatised. Hear it all at St Jude's Church on Wednesday, April 10 from 10.30am. It is $20 per person and tickets can be bought at the door with cash. Parking is available onsite.
Bowral Markets
This weekend
Find a wide range of artisan products, tasty treats, jewellery, clothing and more at this market. Enjoy it all on Saturday, April 13 at the Bowral Bowling Club from 8am to 1pm.
Music at 11: Nicholas Kennedy
Piano delights
Pianist Nicholas Kennedy is performing symphonies by Bach, Beethoven, Miriam Hyde and Liszt. Listen to him on Saturday, April 13 at 11am, at the Soldier's Memorial Hall in Bundanoon. Tickets are available via Trybooking and are $15 each.
Fairy Escapades at Retford Park
An enchanting Saturday
Go on a magical adventure with Lilly the fairy, as she introduces you to special creatures found at the bottom of the garden. Attendees can also dress as fairies for the occasion. Enjoy it all on Saturday, April 13 at Retford Park from 11am to 12pm. It is $27.53 per person for children under the age of three. Buy them through Eventbrite.
Robertson Music Cafe: Peter Campbell
This weekend
Singer-songwriter Peter Campbell is bringing his indie-folk hits and storytelling to Robertson this weekend. Listen to him on Saturday, April 13 at 2pm, at CTC Robertson. It is $10 per adult and a gold coin for children. Book a spot through Trybooking, even if you plan to pay at the door.
Wilbur Whitta Jazz Quartet
Lots to hear
Jazz pianist and composer Wilbur Whitta has performed across Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom and Japan. He will perform his compositions on the piano and keyboards with, Tom Avgenicos (trumpet), Jack Stoneham (also saxophone) and Alex Inman-Hislop (drums). The band will also play traditional jazz music, and their own interpretations. Hear it all at St Jude's Church on Saturday, April 13 from 2pm. Australian Haydn Ensemble: Heavenly Sopranos
Music to one's ears
Soprano singers Celeste Lazarenko and Helen Sherman will perform symphonies from Hasse, Durante and Pergolesi with the Australian Haydn Ensemble. Listen to them on Saturday, April 13 at 4pm, at the Bowral Memorial Hall. Tickets are $72 people above the age of 30, $62 for concession holders and $40 for people under 30. A Day on the Green
One night only
International crooner Chris Isaak will make his way to the Centennial Vineyards for a one-night show. The platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated singer and actor is returning to Australia for the first time since 2016. Boy and Bear, Mark Seymour and The Undertows, and Vika and Lindawill also perform on the day. See them all on Sunday, April 14. Tickets vary from $115 to $299.95. Get them through Ticketmaster.

Exhibitions at the SHAC
Lots to see
There are three exhibitions on display at the SHAC in Robertson. Discover Anne-France Fulgence's serene and dramatic landscapes in Luxe, calme et volupte. David Starr's collection of works make up his exhibition Silencio. See Peter Ward's prints, collages and other artworks in Noshyacking. See it all every Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
