Her daughters and grandchildren stood together to honour her legacy.
"She'd be very proud that the Bong Bong Races are back bigger than ever," daughter Wendy Howard said.
Horses were a lifelong passion for Lyn, who spent her childhood at her family's riding school, was an assistant and senior instructor at the Berrima District Pony Club, a Zone 10 Pony Club Association treasurer, an assistant secretary at the Bong Bong Race Club, and a competitor, volunteer and committee member at the Bowral Show Society.
She was also awarded AgShows NSW's Dedication Award this year, which celebrates people who have shown unwavering loyalty, and commitment to their show societies.
Alan Chittick was also honoured at the 2023 races with commemorative plaques.
His wife Ruth said the plaques on both sides of the tracks were a very moving gesture to celebrate his legacy.
He joined the Bong Bong Race Club in 1959 and was a board member from 1960 to 2018.
The late veterinarian, horseman and historian became a life member in 1983 and passed away this June.
"I think it's lovely that dad's memory is going to be permanently marked at Bong Bong - a place he loved so much," said his daughter Julie Vandyke.
"The race club wouldn't be the same without him," said step-daughter Edwina Grant.
