The coporate lawyer and Miss International Australia for 2022 was the first faithful to be "murdered" on the Channel 10 show, which was filmed at the Robertson Hotel.
She was keen to use her analytical and people skills, competitive streak and assertiveness in the hopes of securing the $250,000 prize.
"I also wanted to join in the hopes of winning the end prize so I could give it all to my mum," she said.
"She works double shifts, six days a week, and the prize money would have helped her immensely."
When Ms Whitelaw did not turn up to breakfast, everyone was shocked, wondering why she was gone when she did not cause any drama.
"My strategy was to keep under the radar and be the dark horse who rose up and surprised everyone with my skills when it was unexpected," she said.
Although she said she withheld "a little truth" about being a lawyer, she did not regret her approach.
Highlights were completing the first mission which required "endurance and physical resilience", as well as the friends she made along the way.
When she first came to Robertson, the coporate lawyer thought it was a "literal fairytale".
"As a born and raised Sydneysider, I knew about the suburb of Robertson but I had not visited the place," she said.
"Once we arrived, it seemed like we had entered into another world and had escaped reality - quite literally!"
When she saw that familiar faces such as reality television contestants Ash Pollard and Luke Toki and actor Gyton Grantley were also competing, she was surprised, but said it would add "spice" as the show progressed.
The Traitors continues on Channel 10 at 7.30pm on every Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.
