A memorial service will be held by the Southern Highlands Vietnam Veterans' Association, at the Bowral Vietnam War Memorial and Cherry Tree Walk on August 20.
More than 60,000 Australian ground troops and air force and navy personnel, served in Vietnam, where 523 were killed, and almost 2400 were wounded.
Vietnam Veterans Day is on August 18, which is the anniversary of the 1966 Battle of Long Tan, which was a significant moment in the war for Australia.
Australian troops were withdrawn from South Vietnam in 1971, and most troops were removed from the country by late 1972.
The Australian government officially declared the end of its combat in Vietnam in December, 1972, where the withdrawal process continued in 1973, and all troops were home by June 30.
Attendees are advised to arrive at 10.45am for an 11am start, where a marquee with undercover seating will provide shelter from a change in weather.
Vietnam veterans who want to participate should arrive by 10.30am.

A parade of veterans will march with the Oxley College Pipe Band prior, and the theme of this year's memorial is Vietnam 50 Years On.
Members of the public will be invited to lay a tribute on the day, and there will be representatives from the veteran community and high schools in the Highlands.
