October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a time of year where many people host pink events to support people affected by breast cancer.
In 2022, pets across NSW are joining in the fun.
After an impressive year last year raising an amazing $3009, Arlo the Dachshund kicked off the Pets in Pink movement and came on board as the NSW PetBassador for 2022.
His human, Izzy Hunt has already raised over $1500 sharing Arlo's involvement over social media and is grateful for the local businesses in the Southern Highlands and wider community for all their support.

"It was great to get involved in this 'pawsome' cause last year. It was something quirky and fun we could do for Cancer Council NSW to raise awareness for breast cancer during the month of October, she said.
"A good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and due to distance, I can't be there physically to help, but this is how I can support and make a difference and every little bit counts. Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far."
Cancer Council's Community Relations Coordinator for Southern communities, Brooke Manzione is grateful for supporters like Izzy and Arlo who really help raise awareness about the work of Cancer Council NSW.
"Pets in Pink is designed to bring people together digitally, to share photos of pets and stories while still raising awareness and vital funds so we can continue our research, programs and services to work towards a future free from breast cancer, she said.
"Thank you to everyone who has participated and donated so far and to Arlo for being our PETBassador for 2022."
