Year 12 students India O'Brien, Mackenzie Kane and Liam O'Connell from Oxley College won Rotary International's Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) competition.
The debates, which give students the chance to learn about the United Nations, were held in the Old House of Representatives in Old Parliament House.
"Model United Nations was an incredible experience, allowing us students to live out our wildest dreams of saving the world through diplomacy," India said.
Students are tasked with being representatives of a country.
They conduct research to wear a national costume and prepare speeches to solve different problems.
Two teams from Oxley College went into the final - India, Mackenzie and Liam represented India, and Jennifer Allan, Sophie Dunn and Liam Verity presented their findings for Saudi Arabia.
The teams had the opportunity to meet with different experts for their speeches.

They spoke with Dr Sriram from the Indian High Commission, the Australian National University's Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies Dr Laachir and Dr Altamni the Cultural Attaché from Saudi Arabia's Cultural Mission to Australia.
Team India placed first overall.
"Adding on to the highs of speaking in Old Parliament House and winning the competition, the experience of visiting the Saudi Arabian and Indian High Commissions were also once-in-a-lifetime events," India said.
"It was a deeply rich experience that we will never forget," Mackenzie said.
Students debated, negotiated and studied for two days and were up against 14 other schools across the country.
