Locals and ladies from the Southern Highlands Evening (SHE) CWA knitted squares and joined them together, to create eight rugs for the Lismore Evening CWA branch.
These have been distributed to people coping with the aftermath of the floods.
SHE CWA publicity officer Jill Dyson saw a callout for rugs that had a red heart and a comforting message on them.
"We like to respond to things that come up as they are needed," she said.
"Hopefully they keep someone warm and we're thinking of them."
CWA Lismore Evening branch President Kerry Harvey said they have been a "hot ticket item" which have brought joy to many.
They have received hundreds of wraps and donations from different groups and organisations across Australia.
Branch members have visited people over the last couple of months, and offered them the knitted items while they chat.
"It has been a chance to talk to people and see what they needed," she said.
Mrs Harvey said the recovery from the floods has been ongoing, and many are still finding their feet to start over.
The CWA's meeting room, a hub for community events and meetings, was also destroyed.
The ladies were determined to do their bit in Lismore, and have appreciated the wide-reaching support with the rugs.
"We're delighted and overwhelmed because they're beautifully made with great deal of love and care," the Lismore Evening CWA President said.
SHE CWA member Jan Bell, personally delivered the rugs to the Northern Rivers region while she visited family.
"We do so much appreciate the effort they went to, and they are so lovely," Mrs Harvey said.
"We can't thank them enough for their thoughtfulness and kindness."
It has inspired both branches to see which flood-affected communities will benefit from the rugs.
"Giving out the rugs is not just giving out rugs, it is giving out something...made with love..." Mrs Harvey said.
