Fit For Home Outreach Program
Every Friday 3:30 - 4:15pm Term 2, 2022.
The primary aim of this program is to build positive and healthier relationships between teens and their parents or carers and create closer bonds to take into the household.
This will be developed through the social outing of a fitness session in the company of NSW Police Youth Engagement Officers and PCYC staff - Southern Highlands. The program will not be hosted at any one location and facilitators will seek out a new location (public place/park) in the Wingecarribee Shire every week, throughout the school term.
Fit To Learn (The Garden Project)
Term 3
Fit to Learn is a program with the goal to re-engage disengaged youth back into the education system, allowing them to develop intellectually and socially within a safe academic environment.
This program will encourage participants to explore their strengths in building respectful relationships within an alternate learning environment. Young people involved in this particular program will play a role in the design process of the historic Mittagong Leafy baths and zoo located directly opposite the PCYC building.
The area will be transformed into a multi-purpose usable space and will complement the already existing youth programs within the PCYC, golf club users, Mittagong Rugby and the community utilizing the forty foot falls walking track.
Fit For Work and Travel (Hospitality and Tourism Program)
Term 4
Fit for Work program is designed to holistically address a young person's disengagement from their family, education and provide employment opportunities, to help reduce and prevent their involvement in anti- social behaviour and/or crime.
This will ultimately lead to increased employment opportunities for a cohort that traditionally is reflected in high unemployment statistics.
This program will provide employment pathways for young people looking to enter the hospitality and tourism industries, and will be provided the mentorship required to be considered employable at the end of the program.
