New movies
- From February 10, Empire Cinemas
Three new movies will be released in the Highlands this week. Gal Gadot stars in the mystery thriller Death on the Nile, and Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson lead the romantic-comedy Marry Me. Hidetoshi Nishijima and Masaki Okada star in the Japanese drama Drive My Car.

Exhibition: Three Wingecarribee Painters
- February 10-21, Bowral Art Gallery, 10am-4pm daily
Gallery regulars the Three Wingecarribee Painters will bring a unique exhibition to Bowral this week.
Artists Dale Saunders, Michael Eccleston and Stan Korytnyi use their art to comment on environmental and political issues.
The exhibition will be officially opened on February 11, from 6pm to 8pm.
Ngununggula Nights
- February 11, Ngununggula, 6-9pm
Enjoy live music, cocktails, late-night art viewing and food by Hearth by Moonacres this week! Heather Shannon will perform this Friday.
Tickets for adults are $15 each, $12 for concession holders and $35 for a family. Tickets can be purchased here.
Lawrence Mooney
- February 11, Mittagong RSL, 7.30pm for 8pm
Stand-up comedian, radio broadcaster television and radio host Lawrence Mooney is bringing the laughs this weekend with his show Beauty. Attendees must be over the age of 18.
Tickets are $45 each and can be secured here.
Learn to skate workshop
- February 12, Bowral Skatepark, 10am-2.30pm
Skaters of all ability levels from the ages of six can come along for this workshop. Totem will teach students different techniques in classes for newcomers to intermediate skaters.
Newcomer and beginner classes are classified as having a zero to one skill level. Level two classes are for skaters who are improving their skills and want to explore tricks. Intermediate skaters are confident on a skateboard, know some tricks and want to take it to the next level. These skaters are classified as levels two to three.
The schedule is outlined below:
- 10-10.30 am: Beginner class with registration and student set up
- 10.30-11.30am: Beginner class
- 11.30-12pm: Beginner class with registration and student set up
- 12-1pm: Beginner class
- 1-1.30pm - Intermediate class with registration and student set up
- 1.30-2.30pm - Intermediate mentoring class suitable for levels two and three
Professional grade safety gear, helmets, and skateboards are provided on the day.
The workshops are free and spots must be secured via Eventbrite. Attendees must sign a waiver after they have booked their spot.

Music with Shane Nicholson
- February 12, Bowral Bowling Club, 6-11pm
ARIA award winner Shane Nicholson is coming to Bowral this weekend.
Attendees must be over 18. Tickets must be booked before 3pm on February 12, and can be secured here.
Crop Swap Robertson
- February 12, Robertson CTC, 9-10.30 am
Highlanders have the chance to grab fresh and seasonal fruits, vegetables and eggs this week. A table is set up for people to put their produce, and swap with others. Attendees must adhere to social distancing and wear a mask. Magazines, plants and flowers are also welcome.
Bowral Market
- February 12, Bowral Bowling Club, 8am-1pm
Come along to one of the region's oldest markets for a wide range of stalls. Enjoy a mix of stalls offering freshly baked goods and produce, preserves, textiles, arts and crafts.
Robertson Market
- February 13, School of Arts, 8.30am-2pm
The second Sunday of the month means the Robertson Markets are back for you, and your loved ones to enjoy! Head to the main street of Robertson to enjoy a wide variety of stalls and bargains.
Wallaby Hill Equestrian Extravaganza
- February 13, 122 Wallaby Hill Rd, Robertson
People can come along to see quirky costumes on horseback and horsing competitions this weekend. Competitors from all three Olympic disciplines, such as Stuart Tinney compete throughout the day.
Entry is free for spectators.
Attendees can grab food and drinks from the bar and Mean Muffin canteen and shop from the trade stands.
Beyond Ordinary: Contemporary Women Makers
- February 13-April 3, Sturt, 11am-5pm daily
Dale Dryen and Ruth Thompson have come together and curated an exhibition full of female timber masters and artists. Twenty-eight creators will feature in the exhibition full of wood crafts and bronze, ceramic mosaic and porcelain pieces.
Second Sunday Session
- February 13, Robertson Bowling Club, 11am-3pm
The Highlands Folk Music Group loves to entertain guests at the club, and help create a relaxed atmosphere. The group of friends sit around a table, have some yarns and play a variety of reels, jigs and ballads from Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland.
Sunday sessions: jazz with Al Davey
- February 13, Gibraltar Hotel, 2-5pm
Trumpeter, trombonist and vocalist Al Davey will bring jazz to Bowral this weekend. Lunch is available from 1pm.

Exhibitions at the SHAC
- Until February 14, the SHAC, Friday to Monday 10am-4pm
There are three exhibitions on display in Robertson. Discover how Highlands artist Tilly Myers brings Australian flora to life in Playing Beatie Botanicals. NIDA graduate and lover of the performing arts Julie Haseler Reilly has a variety of sculptures on display in Loco Rococo. ArtistPoss Keech also has an eclectic range of drawings and paintings in her second solo show Transformations.
