Moss Vale property market heats up as land release sells out in four hours
Moss Vale's Yarrawa Road could well be Australia's most sought after street with buyers snapping up land releases in under four hours on Saturday, November 13. Ashbourne, a planned community in Moss Vale's south, officially opened up to the public with the first land packages selling out instantly. Owned by Aoyuan International, a subsidiary of Chinese company Aoyuan, the Ashbourne development hopes to deliver around 1100 to 1200 lots over the course of the next decade via staged releases.
Moss Vale residents rally to save to 93-year-old 'Karingal' property from proposed subdivision
A 93-year-old Moss Vale property with historical links to prominent Bowral builder Alf Stephens was potentially set to be subdivided if a development application was successful, leaving many residents and historians deeply unhappy. First built in 1927 by Alf Stephens for prominent Moss Vale storekeeper, Stanley Edward Gibson Browne, 'Karingal', is located on 26 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale. It was recently sold in September 2021 for $1.75 million. Two development applications had been submitted to Wingecarribee Shire Council.
Highlands carols cancelled due to restrictions
There were groans of disappointment across the Highlands in November when organisers announced that the Bowral Family Carols were cancelled due to the change in restrictions. The carols were supposed to go ahead on December 9 at the Bradman Oval. The committee made the announcement on their Facebook page on November 12.
$9 million Sutton Forest property goes on the market
There was much interest in our November 3 story about a grand Sutton Forest property going on the market. Braebrook farm was developed by Geoffrey and Pamela Coghlan over 30 years ago as a cattle and thoroughbred property. The house, designed by Rick Turner, was planned so as to accommodate Geoffrey and Pamela's large family of children and grandchildren. It sold almost immediately for $9,400,000.
