The site developer Fountaindale Group was guided by Wingecarribee Council's 2020 Local Housing Strategy which called for more housing options to meet the needs of the area's ageing population, many of whom live alone.
The lodged development application on a 1.4 hectare site on Belmore Street comprises one and two bedroom energy efficient cottages.
Residents will have the opportunity to connect with others with a community vegetable garden, a communal fire place and outdoor gathering places.
"There are many downsizers for whom a low maintenance cottage is ideal," said Fountaindale director Jennifer Macquarie.

All homes in Ingleside will meet accessibility standards for seniors housing and have the ability to be adapted if health and mobility needs change.
