The guns on the Western Front fell silent at 11am on November 11, 1918, where German leaders signed an Armistice which ended World War One. Between 1914 and 1918, over 330,000 Australians served in the war efforts and 60,000 people lost their lives.
November 11 has become a day of commemorating the sacrifices and losses of servicemen and women, and ensuring their legacy lives on.
Here is a list of branches and associations that will be holding services face-to-face across the Highlands.
Berrima at the Market Place
The commemoration begins at 10.45am and ends at 11am with a minute silence. Attendees must show they are double vaccinated, and check in upon arrival. It is also advised that those present wear masks.
Mittagong RSL Club
The service will take place outdoors at the club weather permitting, otherwise it will be in the auditorium upstairs. The service will commence at 10.45am followed by a minute silence at 11. All attendees must be double vaccinated.

Moss Vale RSL Sub Branch
The Moss Vale Sub Branch will be holding a commemorative service at the Moss Vale Services Club. The service commences at 10.45am and the auditorium can take 256 people.
Bundanoon Sub Branch
The service starts at 10.40am at the Southern Villages Memorial. It will take place outside weather permitting, otherwise, the service will take place inside the Soldier's Memorial Hall.
Bowral RSL sub-Branch
Members will go down to the Bowral War Memorial at 10.55am to say a short prayer, lay a wreath, raise the flag and play the Last Post followed by a minute silence.
Highlanders can also do the following:
- Have a minute's silence at home at 11am
- Wear a poppy and pay tribute to the fallen
- Make your own Remembrance wreath or poppy
- Take a virtual tour inside the Hall of Memory
- Learn more about the day's history and those who served
