Silverdale Farm has partnered with TAFE NSW to provide six students with a five days experience on the Avoca broodmare and spelling facility next month.
TAFE NSW's equine teachers will provide a hands-on "taster" of all aspects of the industry, including yearling preparation, foaling, and horse health and behaviour.
It is a fee-free initiative.
"Thoroughbred breeding is such an exciting industry to be a part of and there are so many different employment pathways for students. It's an incredible opportunity," said TAFE NSW Equine Teacher Linda Molloy.

Silverdale Farm owner and property investor Steve Grant launched the initiative which would be the first of similar upcoming programs.
"I wouldn't have got a start as a young bloke without TAFE NSW and this is all helping kids take the next step in a rewarding and exciting industry," he said.
One lucky student in the region will also be employed at Silverdale Farm for a year through a scholarship program.
"Steve Grant and Silverdale Farm are significant players in a major industry, and this course has the potential to really open doors for participants," Ms Molloy continued.
Students will also visit Kembla Grange racetrack and nearby racing stables as part of the program.
Students must be 15 years old or above to apply.
