Wingecarribee Shire Council ends contract with Civic Centre builder
Wingecarribee Shire Council has terminated the contract with Matrix Group Co. Pty Ltd for the refurbishment of the Moss Vale Civic Centre. The decision to terminate the builder follows allegations of increased delays, performance breaches and failure on behalf of the builder to manage sub-contractors and tradespersons.
Live performances are music to everyone's ears
Performers in the Highlands are warming up their vocal chords and tuning their instruments as live music makes a comeback in the region. The easing of restrictions on October 11 meant that venues such as pubs and clubs could welcome entertainers back to perform, and the Bowral Bowling Club kicks off their performances with a club favourite this weekend.
Berrima Gaol goes on the market
The NSW Government on Tuesday announced the former Berrima Correctional Centre has been listed for sale via an expressions of interest (EOI) campaign. The gaol was retired last year as it was considered no longer fit-for-purpose and surplus to Corrective Services' requirements.
Highlands students win international music competition
Jess Howell and Mandy Vega Carrera's dedication to singing and performing have been recognised on an international level in the Charleston International Music Competition. The students from the Highlands put the region and Australia on the map by winning first and second place in the Contemporary Music Competition for singers aged 17 to 20.
