Late Saturday the NSW Government announced that the Wingecarribee Shire would go into a seven day lock down, in line with other regional areas.
The council remains committed to ensuring the health and safety of its staff and the continued provision of vital services to the community, whilst complying with the required health orders.
Council services still open:
- Water services. The service will continue to operate as normal.
- Sewerage services. The service will continue to operate as normal.
- Domestic rubbish collection. The service will continue to operate as normal.
- Before and After School Care at Mittagong Public School open until further notice.
- Family Day Care open until further notice.
Council services that have been restricted:
- Customer Services. The council's customer services centre will be closed. However, Council's 24/7 Contact Centre will continue to operate please call 4868 0888.
- Southern Regional Livestock Exchange (SRLX) open to buyers and agents only.
- Animal Shelter. Open by appointment only. Please register your contact details upon entry. Appointments can be arranged for: release of impounded animals, potential adoption of animals, dropping off found stray animals. For further information visit: www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/Facilities/Animal-Shelter
- Sports fields open for essential exercise only.
- Council Reserves and parks open for essential exercise only. (Note: exercising in groups such as a boot camp or team sport is not permitted)

- Southern Highlands Welcome Centre. The Centre is temporarily closed. To enquire about business opportunities or future destination ideas, visit Council's Destination Southern Highlands website: www.visitsouthernhighlands.com.au

Council reminds all residents to remain vigilant and continue to look out for one another by staying home if you're feeling unwell and maintaining social distancing, wearing masks as required and practicing good hand hygiene.
