On Saturday, April 17 at Bowral Bowling Club the results were a stark contrast from the previous week.
We were back on the green after three wins on the weekend of April 10. However, the latest result is three losses.
Bowral 1st grade played second placed Glenbrook but was outplayed by some brilliant bowls from the opposition.
Glenbrook 79 shots, Bowral 48 shots, Glenbrook won 3 rinks, Bowral nil rinks, Glenbrook 10 points, Bowral 0 points.
Gordon Lewis, Stephen Della, Mick Armstrong and Mick Spong lost to Glenbrook 23-22.
Bowral made a move early and had a 6-0 lead after four ends. From then on neither team could get the break with scores level at the half way mark 12-12.

Bowral then started to move ahead after having played some good bowls and had a lead 22-16 with three ends to play, but great play by Glenbrook on the 19th end had them picking up five shots and Glenbrook was up to the challenge scoring one shot on the 20th end and then one shot on the last end to win the match by one shot.
Bowral skipper Mick Spong said it was hard to put into words the loss after a good team effort.
Terry Butt, Jim Neely, Garry Brown and Nathan Boyer lost to Glenbrook 31-10.
The first half of the match was very tight with Glenbrook leading 13-7. But obviously the score board tells the story at the finish with Glenbrook winning by 21 shots.
Carl Spilker, Tom Degreenlaw, Glynn Phillips and Paul Leverett lost to Glenbrook 25-16.
At the half way mark Glenbrook had an 11-7 lead and after 14 ends Bowral had narrowed the gap to 13-11. The key factor in the final result occurred on the next three ends. Glenbrook picked up 10 shots and at the finish they won by nine shots.
This Saturday at Bowral the competition leaders Austral will be the opponents.
Bowral manager mark Wilson admitted this would be a hard encounter and Bowral needed points to keep out of the relegation zone.
Grade 6
Picton put on a very professional performance to defeat Bowral. Picton won two rinks, Bowral had a draw on one rink. Picton 64 shots, Bowral 51 shots. Picton 9.5 points, Bowral 0.5 points.
Graham Hunt, Terry Norwood, Julie Hayden and Robin Staples played out a 15-15 draw.
Bowral was first in front going to a 7-5 lead after eight ends. The scores locked at 13-13 after 17 ends and 14-14 after 19 ends.
Neither side could get the winning shot which was fitting finish with the teams 15-15.
Noel Fraser, Steve Day, Dennis Beatty and Dave Coltman lost to Picton 24-15.
The Picton side formed a strong combination going to a 9-2 lead after six ends. Bowral would have been happy in the way they fought back but it was Picton taking the victory by nine shots.
Andy Connor, Ted McPhee, Bob Crowley and Gail Fraser lost to Picton 25-21. Bowral scored seven shots on the second end to lead by 9-2. Picton then started to turn the game around and after 15 ends the scores locked at 18-18.
Over the last three ends Picton could not put a foot wrong and they came away with a four shot win.
This coming Saturday Bowral will play the high flying Robertson who sit second on the competition table. Being a local derby all players will be out to impress.
Grade 7
It is understood that Bowral lost to Camden on all three rinks although I have not got the match details as yet. This Saturday Bowral will be at home to Campbelltown.
