IT was a big day of lawn bowls with Bowral winning all three grades of pennant matches on April 10 at Bowral Bowling Club.

Even the sponsors from Dirty Janes and Bank of Queensland were present.
Bowral turned out in their new uniform, decked out in shirts, trousers and jackets.
On top of that the Springett Green, which has been out of action since second week December, was back in play.
Bowral could not have had a better day on the green with grade 2 defeating Wallacia, grade 6 defeating Taralga and grade 7 defeating Bundanoon.

In summary it was a first grade win in last end thriller by one shot in the match against Wallacia with Bowral 63 shots, Wallacia 62 shots.
Bowral had won one rink, Wallacia had won one rink, with one rink in a draw, Bowral 8.5 points and Wallacia 1.5 points.
The team of Ashley Lewis, Kevin Stafford, Garry Brown and Nathan Boyer's ultimately defeated Wallacia 27-21.
Bowral was untouchable from the start jumping to a 6-0 lead after four ends.
Then Wallacia went on the attack and took the lead 9-6 after seven ends.
Only good team work from Bowral then put Bowral back in the lead 16-13 after 11 ends.
In a tight second half of the match, scores locked at 18-18 after 14 ends , and 21-21 after 18 ends.
Bowral took out the last three ends and claimed a six shot victory.
Carl Spilker, Glynn Phillips, Paul Leverett and Josh Woodcock had a 20-20 draw
It was clear from the start this was going to be a tight match.
Bowral had the lead then Wallacia hit back and at the halfway mark had taken the lead 11-9.
All the drama unfolded on the last two ends with Bowral trailing by four shots.
On the 20th end Bowral skipper Josh Woodcock - with Wallacia holding shot with his last bowl - drove the jack into the ditch to pick up three shots.
This had Wallacia leading 20-19 with one end to play.
All team members from both sides put in excellent shots, but it was Wallacia holding the shot.
Again skipper Woodcock came to the rescue. While down a shot this prompted Woodcock to change his shot from the previous end and he went for the draw shot.
He brought of a humdinger of a shot to draw along side the jack and this forced a 20-20 draw.
Gordon Lewis, Stephen Della, Mick Armstrong and Mick Spong lost to Wallacia 21-16.
Bowral had the better of the play early and had a 7-3 lead after five ends.
From then on Wallacia started to get on top and after 11 ends had a 14-9 lead.
In the second half Wallacia always had the upper hand although Bowral got close and with two ends to play, they trailed 19-16.
At the finish it was Wallacia getting away with a five shot win.
It is the master board that counts and at the finish Bowral had a one shot victory 63-62 in a cliff hanger result.
The pennant fixtures for this coming Saturday have Bowral at home to the second place Glenbrook.
Bowral pull of 10 shot victory over Taralga in grade 6.
Bowral lifted from the bottom of the table with a well earned win over second place Taralga.
Bowral 66 shots, Taralga 56 shots. Bowral winning 2 rinks, Taralga winning 1 rink Bowral 9 points. Taralga 1 point.
Noel Fraser, Stephen Day, Dennis Beatty and Dave Coltman defeated Taralga 31-21.
The impression from the start was that Bowral looked very committed. They went to a 12-6 lead after six ends.
But at the half way mark the scores close 16-12 in Bowral favour.
The second half had Bowral putting the pressure on and they came away with a solid 10 shot win.
Terry Butt, Bob Crowley, Gail Fraser and Jim Neely defeated Taralga 20-18.
With skipper Jim Neely urging his players on from the start and with Taralga sitting second on the table they had a comfortable 13-4 lead at the half way mark.
Things got a bit tight at the finish with Taralga coming back stronger in the second half. But Bowral hung on for a two shot win.
Graham Hunt, Terry Norwood, Julie Hayden and Robin Staples lost to Taralga 17-15. It can be said that this was a fair result for Bowral against a strong Taralga outfit.
Both sides were under pressure in the first half of the match and after some very tense play Taralga held a slender 8-7 lead.
What a second half with the teams level 15-15 with two ends to play!
At the finish Bowral went down by two shots. On the master board Bowral won 66-56.
This Saturday Bowral will be home to Picton.
What a turnaround in grade 7 for Bowral in the first round fixture!
Bundanoon inflicted a 94-36 defeat on Bowral but this can not be said on the return fixture.
Bowral 69 shots, Bundanoon 69 shots. Bowral won two rinks, Bundanoon won one rink. Bowral 5.5 points, Bundanoon 4.5 points.
It was a clash between Bundanoon on top of the table and Bowral last. Peter Cornwell, Richard Denman, David Noble and Bob Edwards defeated N. O'Mullane, Steven Good, Keith Stratton and Peter Cowling 30-15.
Bowral punished Bundanoon in the first half going to a surprisingly 16-6 lead and in the second half making every single shot count They came away with a 15 shot win.
Andy Connor, Alex Lamb, Reta South and Brian Porter defeated Bev Palance, Dan Wray, Bob Burnham and Graham Anderson 27-22.
Bundanoon had a half time lead 12-10 and in the second half it was a tense contest 21-21 after 17 ends then Bundanoon taking a 22-21 lead on the next end.
Playing great bowls on the last three ends Bowral came away with a five shot win
Rick Reynolds, Bill Meredith, Dave Riddell and Clive Neutze lost to Scott Kelly, Steve Granger, Steve Beveridge and Allyn Wray 32-12.
As the scores suggest it was Bundanoon playing all the shots leading 16-6 after 11 ends. Bundanoon powered away in the second half for a 20 shot victory.
This Saturday Bowral will travel to Camden.
