The roadworks will be from 6 am to 6 pm at the Murrimba Road intersection, with both directions affected.
A reduced speed limit of 40 kms will be enforced, with alternating stop slow traffic conditions in place.
A transport Management spokesperson said traffic was slow southbound.
"It's currently backed up by four kilometres," they said.
Motorists are advised to allow an additional 10 minutes of travel time and to proceed with caution.
