Graham Hunt, Jim Starkey, Dennis Beatty, Robin Staples defeated Neville Tanner, Joe O'Donnell, Don Chapman and Chris Forrester 20-18 in the match of the day.
It was a very close match all the way through and after six ends the scores locked at 5-5 and 9-9 after eleven ends.
Again, even after 13 ends 10-10 and 14-14 after 16 ends.
Then team Forrester made a bid for victory winning three ends in a row going to a 17-14 lead on the 19th end.

On the next end team Staples made the biggest play in the match when they picked up six shots on the 20th end to go to a 20-17 lead.
Team Forrester made every attempt on the last end to regain the lead but could only pick up one shot.
With very little bowls in the past six weeks players were able to show they had not lost touch and enjoyed a good work out with pennants round the corner.

- Andy Connor and Ted McPhee defeated Aidrian Nelson and Dave Norec 27-24.
- Barry Werfel and Keith Edwards defeated Lawrence Vipond and Kevin Jones 16-11.
- Kel Limbrick, Owen Williams and Bob Edwards defeated Bill Pope, Tony Oakes and John Cummins 18-17.
- Viv Gear, Jack Davis, Paul McInerney and Peter morales defeated Colin Stone, Mark Rondeck, Don Coleman and Clive Neutze 15-11
- Bill Meredith and Gordon Lewis defeated Richard Denman and Steve Day 21-17.
Representative success
There is good news for Bowral Bowling Club on a representative level with several players taking part in the zone trials at Lithgow.
Mick Armstrong, Mick Spong, Dugald Braithwaite, Stephen Della and Ashley Lewis have been selected in the next zone trial to be played at Campbelltown. Reaching this stage is a top result with the final zone trial to be played in Wollongong.
Minor singles
Bowls co-ordinator Carl Spilker has asked that bowlers put in their diary that the start of the minor singles will now commence on February 28 with the first round matches.
Eligibility criteria is that participants can not have won major singles or major pairs or the minor singles. The winner of the 2019 minor singles is eligible to play and defend title.
Club news
In a bid for players to refresh their game, on the notice board is a notice called coaches corner - it is worth a read.
Note that many of the articles refer to etiquette - as opposed to laws of the game. But it is an important component too in order to ensure a smooth and pleasant game for all.
Finally, a good sportsmanship reminder for all skips. Remember that the player(s) on your team are doing their best, and that you, as skip, are not always perfect yourself.
