The garden is a delight to wander through. As you venture up the driveway the grand Victorian Italianate homestead appears from a towering arboretum of a magnificent collection of evergreen and deciduous trees, some very rare and unique. Surrounding the eastern side of the homestead is a patchwork of hedged gardens showcasing everything from a detailed knot garden, exquisite swimming pool and pavilion, sculptures demanding centre stage and even a friendly family of four emus.

The gardens are open to the public on the first weekend of each month. You can bring a picnic as there are many idyllic spots to claim for a lazy lunchtime.To ensure the health and safety of the community, the National Trust (NSW) is opening its properties with pre-booked and timed tickets.

Harper's Mansion Open Days
- Harper's Mansion, 9 Wilkinson St, Berrima on February 6-7.The first session for entry opens at 11am, with last entry at 2pm for 3pm closing.
Overlooking historic Berrima, Harper's Mansion was built in 1834 by local publican James Harper and later owned by the Catholic Church. The house was restored by the National Trust from 1978 and is furnished in colonial style and is set in two acres of gardens made for strolling, full of cool climate heritage plants and featuring one of the largest hedge mazes in Australia.
Harper's Mansion is open on the first and third weekends of each month. There is an outdoor table and chairs area available for you to bring your own food or throw down a rug for a picnic. The National Trust (NSW) has terms and conditions of entry and a commitment to COVIDSafe practices to keep you safe through the coronavirus pandemic. All visitors to site must sign in using the QR code on display. If you are entering the house you will be required to wear a mask.
Puppet Show at ImaginArta Puppet Centre
ImaginArta presents a professional puppetry performance every Sunday at Sutton Forest Village Hall, 7414 Illawarra Highway from 11-11:45am. "Things With Wings" will be playing in February, and is a lyrical, light-hearted story about Stumpy, a caterpillar who desperately wants to fly. With many types of puppets - string, rod and shadow - "Things With Wings" from the Sydney Puppet Theatre is a show to delight the family. As a special New Year offering, everyone who buys a ticket during January and February goes into the draw to win a free performance at ImaginArta to raise money for their own school, club or favourite charity.
