Nathaniel Smith MP said Transport for NSW would reduce the existing 70 km/h speed limit on Mittagong Road to 60 km/h for a stretch of about 800 metres from Tulloona Road, until 80 metres north of Oxley Drive.
"Members of the community raised safety concerns about the speed along this part of Mittagong Road," Mr Smith said.

"Transport for NSW carried out a comprehensive review and decided a reduction was warranted based on the high number of driveway accesses along the stretch of road, which also has a high crash rate."
Over the last five years there have been six crashes on this part of Mittagong Road, three of them resulting in serious injury.
Work to install signs and road marking will be carried out on February 15 between 7am and 5pm, with traffic control and a reduced speed limit in place for the safety of motorists and workers.
Electronic signs will be in place for two weeks before and after the speed limit reduction to alert motorists to the change.
Motorists are asked to keep to the displayed speed limit for the safety of all road users.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their area and to have a say on speed limits.
