Trees are down and debris is across the road at various locations on Moss Vale Road between Barrengarry Mountain and Cambewarra.
Motorists are advised to travel with caution and expect delays.
It is expected to take several hours to clear.

Gusting winds and hail have left a destructive trail across the Southern Highlands.
Property owners and emergency services are now busy cleaning up the mess with some roads closed.
A Southern Highlands police spokesperson has advised that people would be best to stay off the roads as the clean up begins.
They said there were trees and debris across several roads and live power lines down in some locations.

Traffic is blocked in both directions on Derby Street, Bowral, near the Milton Street intersection after a tree came down. Motorists will need to travel an alternate route.
Motorists are also urged to avoid the Illawarra Highway near Burrawang.
According to Live Traffic a tree has fallen on a car on the Illawarra Highway near Burrawang Station Road. Emergency services are in attendance and the road is closed in both directions.
Meanwhile more than 500 households in Burradoo, Berrima, Burrawang and Bullio are currently experiencing power outages according the the Integral Energy website.
