Wingello Tiger's first grade players, Grant Pike and Dale Wellington have both put their heads down in the face of adversity and posted double centuries.
As he neared the sacred triple digits, Pike had ambivalent feelings.
"I had mixed emotions," Pike said.
"I obviously knew I was close to 100 and always love scoring runs for the team, but it was disappointing to know we were still going to be beat in the first innings.
"We had an opportunity to weather some good bowling early and capitalise later, but we lost too many wickets."
Once the century was made by Pike, there were still lingering mixed emotions, but it's a good momentum builder for the rest of the season.
"It felt great raising the bat in the heat after all that hard work," Pike said.
"I was still a little dirty after running my brother out earlier in the innings at a critical time.
"We sit third, but we have a lot of work to do. It is good to see the boys scoring runs we just need to be more patient and consistent."
The match may not have gone their way, but the teamwork on display shows what a tight squad the Wingello Tigers are.
"It was excellent seeing Dale score that second innings 100," Pike said
"He has been working very had and thoroughly deserved it.
"It would have been nice to put that sort of score together in the first innings from the boys but we will get there."
In the second innings, Wellington showed his Tiger pride and didn't go out without a fight and was equally as happy for his teammates success.
"Dale's century was a good one because it was in the first innings and the game was still in the balance, he was under a lot of pressure," Wellington said.
"But it was exciting to get my first century for the club and a relief. It felt great to hold the bat up for the club at 100."
