The two sides faced each other at Bradman Oval on Saturday, with Bowral winning the toss and sending the Kookaburras in to bat.
While several Hill Top batsmen made a start, none were able to go on with it, and the Kookaburras were bowled out for 171 in 40.1 overs.
Hill Top captain Alex Debs said Bowral bowled well to restrict them but was disappointed in his team's batting performance.
"171 on Bradman is a low total," he said.
"We didn't bat very well and Bowral bowled us out inside 40 overs which was disappointing.
"We got starts and threw it away. We just got enough contributions to give us something to bowl at."
While Hill Top was without one of their key bowlers Lleyton Wallace, those that did play stood up and got the job done.
It may not have been a big total to defend, but in the end, the Kookaburras enjoyed a 101 run win over Bowral, bowling the home side out for 70.
"A few of us stood up [with the ball] and knew what job we had to do," Debs said.
This weekend, Hill Top will face Wingello again, with the two-day competition beginning.
Debs said while batsmen and bowlers would now have to adapt to a different form of the game, they were "looking forward to that challenge".
"Wingello have got some really good players so we'll definitely have to be at our best."
